Common faults and what they mean
- It rings but will not release the door - usually the electric lock or its supply, not the handset
- One flat does not ring - a break in the line to that flat, or the handset itself
- Crackling and noise - corroded connections in the keypad from damp, common on older entrances
- Nothing works for anyone - the power supply or the panel, rather than every handset failing at once
- The camera image is dark - the panel faces the sun, or the sensor has aged on older video systems
For apartment buildings
With a shared panel we first establish whether the fault is in the common part or in one flat - that also decides who pays for the repair. If the system is old enough that parts are no longer available, we explain what a full replacement involves and how long it takes, so you can put it to the residents.
We work under agreement with residents associations, invoiced to the association.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can just my handset be replaced?
Usually yes, if the panel is working and a compatible part exists. We check what system the entrance uses first, then propose a handset that works with it.
Can an audio intercom be upgraded to video?
It depends on the wiring. Some systems only need the panel and handsets replaced, others need new cable to the flats. That is assessed on site.
Do you install intercoms for houses with a gate?
Yes, including gate and front door release from the same handset or from a phone.
