Leave a requestWe install the EV charger with everything it needs
A charger is not just a box on the wall - to run safely and fast it needs a dedicated supply straight from the board. We do all the electrics, mount the charger and issue a certificate. The installation covers:
- A dedicated circuit from the board, with the correct cable size
- Type B RCD protection - mandatory for EV chargers (ordinary Type A devices do not work correctly)
- A circuit breaker and, if needed, an upgrade of the main board
- Mounting the charger on the garage wall, the facade or the car park
- Testing and a certificate that everything works to standard
11kW or 22kW - which charger?
For charging at home an 11kW charger is usually enough - it charges a 60kWh battery in 5-6 hours overnight. 22kW is for people who drive a lot or have more than one vehicle. Careful: many cars (Tesla Model 3/Y, Ioniq 5, most BYD) take a maximum of 11kW on AC, so a 22kW charger for them means paying more for no benefit. A detailed comparison with prices is in our article EV charger for your home - everything you need to know.
What we check before installation
- The capacity of the main board - 3×25A (typical for a flat) can be tight; for 22kW an upgrade to 63A/80A is often needed
- The distance from the board to the charger - the shorter the cable, the less material and labour
- The condition of the wiring - a charger in an old house with no earthing needs remediation first
- The type of RCD - it must be Type B; ordinary ones do not detect the DC components from an EV
A charger in an apartment building garage
If you live in a flat with an underground garage, besides the installation itself you also need permission from the residents' association, an individual meter (so you only pay for your own consumption) and possibly approval from EVN for an additional supply. We have experience with this kind of installation and guide you through the whole process.
Free assessment
We come out for a free assessment in Skopje - we inspect the installation, measure the capacity and give you an exact price for the option that suits you best. To book or ask a question, call .
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does EV charger installation cost?
It depends on the charger and whether a new circuit and a board upgrade are needed. A basic package with an 11kW charger in a home garage is usually 45,000-65,000 MKD all in, and a 22kW one with smart control 100,000-150,000 MKD. We give you the exact price after a free assessment.
Should I get an 11kW or 22kW charger?
For most home users 11kW is enough (it charges overnight). 22kW is for those with a lot of mileage or more than one vehicle. First check how much your car accepts on AC - many take a maximum of 11kW.
Do I need Type B RCD protection?
Yes, it is mandatory for EV chargers. Ordinary Type A/AC devices do not correctly detect the DC components an electric car generates. Type B is more expensive but mandatory under the standard.
Can I have a charger in an apartment building garage?
Yes, but you need permission from the residents' association, an individual meter for your consumption and sometimes approval from EVN. We have experience with these installations and guide you through the process.
